  1. Kazzit Dry Creek Valley Wineries

  2. If you were to look at a map of Sonoma County that showed all of the wineries in that part of the world, you would more than likely be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of them in the area. That can make planning a road trip through wine country a little bit of a challenge, especially if you want to take in as many spots as possible.

  3. Perhaps the best way to travel through the California wineries found in and around Healdsburg is to settle on just visiting one region at a time. Each region has its own specific charms, as well as varietals that it is known for, which means it shouldn’t be hard to find a region that matches you own tastes.

  4. In the Dry Creek Valley wineries you will find an incredible selection of varietals, meaning that there is a wine there to suit every pallet. All told, there are more than 70 wineries currently operating in the area, giving you plenty of options when you travel along this 16-mile stretch of the county.

  5. This is an area that has a rich history, as some wineries in Dry Creek Valley have been producing wine for over 140 years. There is currently about 9,000 acres of grapes being actively grown, and a multitude of magnificent, award-winning wines produced in the region.

  6. The wineries in Dry Creek Valley are open to visitors all year round, but if you really want to get an idea of what wine is really all about in this region, you should think about planning your trip for the month of April.

  7. For two days every year, you can get access to a Passport to Dry Creek Valley that allows you to sample the wares of more than 45 of the wineries that operate in the region.

  8. It is during this annual event that you will get to taste wines that would not otherwise be made available during the rest of the year. That alone makes this annual event one that really should be circled on the calendar.

  9. There is more to the Passport than just the opportunity to sample some fine wine. People who love wines generally also love good food and the art of trying to pair them both.

  10. That is a big part of what goes on over the two day event, with world famous chefs putting together meals that perfectly complement some of the best wines available in the Dry Creek Valley. It is a Passport that you will definitely want to have stamped more than once.

  11. The great thing about the Dry Creek Valley wineries, as well as the other regions in Sonoma County, is that they are a little less congested and touristy as those in Napa Valley.

  12. This is a great part of the state to go and relax, eat great food, sample delicious wines, and experience a level of accommodation that is second to none. If you have never been through this part of the country, it really is well worth taking the trip.
