  4. What is Moenkopi? Moenkopi is a Hopi word meaning place of running water. 600 million years ago, Red Rock Canyon was under the ocean. Moenkopi also refers to the deposits of shells and skeletons from then that are now limestone. (And you’ll get to walk on it!)

  7. Then just the trail

  8. Here’s the weather station (We’ll see it again at the end of the hike)

  9. After a little while, the trail turns Trail stop 3 Moenkopi this way

  10. It starts to go a little uphill

  11. And then a little more

  12. But the view is great!

  13. It’s going to get a little rocky and steepWatch your step!

  14. Do you remember what Moenkopi means? This is the ancient sea floor you’re about to walk on!

  21. The Visitor’s Center is much closer now
