  1. The Lost Radio waves By: John Nicholson

  2. Table of Contents • Advocacy Topic • Advocates • Advocacy Objective • Audience • Calls-To-Action • Reflection

  3. Advocacy Topic • My topic of concern is the access of the internet in the dormitories. We have only a few computers in the dorms that have operational internet access, and if they’re full, the others must wait or relocate to another area (i.e. the library) but if the library is too raucous, then, where else can we go???

  4. Advocates • The Lost Radio waves are a group committed to regaining internet access and gain Wifi access in the dorms. As this is our senior year, I feel that we have more power in our hands than before. Myself (John Nicholson), SGA President Ty’Ronn Spriggs and SGA Vice-President Tyhree Moore are also fighting for the same topic as I.

  5. Advocacy Objective • My only purpose is to allow students to have equal opportunity to have access to the internet whenever and wherever they need it. And even when I’m gone, hopefully this rally will not have gone on for nothing, as the remembrance of our struggle without homework will live on.

  6. Audience • I have several specific audiences in fact, and they are the Jason Bigil, Mr. Troncoso Ramirez, Ms. Kara Stacks, and Mr. Charles Adams. Mr. Bigil and Mr. Ramirez basically because they are the leaders in the technical department and they have more knowledge on how to tweak the system. Ms. Stacks, for she is the Principal and Mr. Adams because he is the Head of School. With authority comes power.

  7. Call To Action • So, there are several different ways this can be approached, which is either : • By Survey, and compare them and present them to an authority figure • Have a rally, perhaps picket signs and or a movement • Propose a meeting with the HOS, and if everything fails, then take it beyond his powers

  8. Reflection • Personally, I learned how to become an advocate, one who fights strongly for what I believe in and will go to deep ends to gain access to whatever it is I wish for.
