  4. Situation of the Week • Large Group Guidelines: • Choose an appropriate practice situation • Summarize it in 2-3 minutes (with attention to confidentiality) • Develop one question or comment you would like the class to respond to in discussion

ETHICAL PRINCIPLES SCREEN Protection of Life Equality and Inequality Autonomy and Freedom Least Harm Quality of Life Privacy and Confidentiality Truthfulness and Full Disclosure • Examine the Code of Ethics to determine if any of the code rules are applicable. • These rules take precedence over the worker’s personal value system. • If one or more of the Code rules apply – follow the Code rules. • If the Code does not address the specific problem or provides conflicting guidance – Use the Ethical Principles Screen.

If this is a treatment case, clearly present a case summary: Brief summary of Psychosocial Assessment Diagnosis and Treatment Plan Number of sessions and attendance Clearly frame your concerns If this is a transference or counter-transference issue, clearly describe the relational issues and frame your concern. If this is a professional growth issue, clearly describe the opportunities or barriers and frame your concern. If this is a resource management or public policy issue, clearly describe your concerns and actions so far.
