SSFRA History Recent origin, formed 2005/6 Who we are Open to all Cat 1 – Cat 4 (Referees Categories for Senior Football) Voluntary, but almost universal membership among Cat 1 – Cat 3s What we do Regular meetings with SFA, SPL, SFL, SJFA / represent referees Respond to members’ concerns Take legal advice on behalf of all members Represent refereeing in Scotland in the public domain Why are the SSFRA organising a dinner for referees in Scotland? SFA Referees in Scotland, 1st Annual Dinner Key Points Open to all referees, advisors and supervisors Open to guests of all of the above (including friends, family, business partners) ‘Black-tie’ format in 5 star hotel (Hilton Hotel, central Glasgow) Eve of Cup Final timing – Friday 20th May 2011 Organised by SSFRA on behalf of Scottish referee community Likely to be £60/ticket Why Establish a calendar event with a whole-nation, whole-referee community focus Give focus to the end of the season Promote positive profile of refereeing in Scotland What it will involve Dinner High profile (referee/football related) speaker (Sportsman Dinner Format) Tbc Presentation of Jack Mowat Trophy to Cup Final Referee Tbc Presentation of Long Service Awards from SFA Tbc Display of Scottish Cup Local Interest We are targeting 350 in attendance to ‘break even’ with the event Stirlingshire RA share would be around 30 members Presentation to Stirlingshire RA, February 2011
