  2. Aim of presentation • To provide background information regarding initiation of the project • To provide a brief overview of the project • How you can make a difference

  3. Country Resource and Consultancy Team • Support Allied Health Professionals working in the country. • Provides consultancy, training and resouces • Support provided via email, phone call or onsite visits.

  4. How the project came about? • Difficulties faced by country clients and therapists • Access to wheelchair maintenance • Access to minor repairs • Lack of technicians • Long waiting times between repairs

  5. Wheelchair maintenance DVD • DVD aims to help country based therapists train local people in wheelchair maintenance and minor repairs.

  6. How you can make a difference? • Set up a maintenance and minor repair program for wheelchairs • Benefits: • People living in small country towns and remote areas • Reduce disruption to the life of the person using the wheelchair.

  7. Summary Call for interested men’s sheds to contact Lee to express interests in setting up programme Aim is for a couple of men’s sheds to run a pilot programme which can in the future be rolled out to other sheds
