  2. Learning Target You should be able to describe the properties of acids and bases based on patterns you notice after doing a lab experiment to explore.

  4. Activity: exploring acids and bases • WEAR GOGGLES AT ALL TIMES! – CLEAN OUT THE WELL PLATE BEFORE USING IT! • At your station are different chemicals. For each chemical, add about 10 drops to THREE DIFFERENT wells in your well plate. Do not add more than one chemical to any well! • Then add about 3 drops of cabbage juice to one of the wells and about 3 drops of universal indicator to the other well. • Put a SMALL piece of pH test paper in a third well and compare the color to the chart to get a number. • Make sure you get to all of the stations! When you are done, ANSWER questions 1 and 2. We will debrief this activity in about 30 minutes. HW = the back of the sheet!
