    3. Academic course selection in grades 9, 10, 11. - What kind of challenging curriculum is offered in the high school? - How many courses in English, math, science, history, and foreign language have you taken? - Are the courses advanced?

    6. Test Scores What is your best verbal score, best math score? Do the schools to which you apply require the SAT II? If so, what is it used for? Have you sent your scores to the schools to which you have applied?

    7. Volume of Applications the College Receives Is the college selective? Highly selective? How and when do they select their class? Early decision, early action vs. regular decision, rolling admission Do they have a waiting list?

    8. Extra Curricular Activities What do you do when you are not in class? List those in which you have some depth of involvement, made significant contribution, not just participated. School, church, community, work, volunteer, etc.

    9. Essay(s) Required or suggested? Do it either way Stick to the topic and the length Write it yourself Get someone to edit it Make it substantive and relevant

    10. Recommendations Make them a letter of information, not recommendation Make it someone who knows you not a political figure or heavyweight intended to impress Give the writer plenty of time to prepare – 10 days notice

    11. Interview vs. Campus Visit Is it required and does it impact admission? During a campus visit, tour, or information session, they present information, you ask questions. Would I fit in here??
