1953 Birth certificate: With a starting capital of only 2.000 Deutsch mark, the ‘L Hauser KG for sale of Fielden-Endress’ electronic devices’ has been established in 1953. The company’s name came from Ludwig Hauser’s wife Luise.
1955 Where it all began: the house in Lörrach's Zeppelinstraße 1955, affectionately called ‘United Cottage Works’ by the people.
1955 A man of action: company founder Georg H Endress.
1955 The first female employees in Lörrach 1955 with their boss.

1963 Set for growth: a look into the new production hall in Maulburg.
1964 Diversification begins in the 60s: Endress+Hauser measures levels with ultrasound, radiometric devices, electro-mechanics and conductivity.
1966 Tidy, clean workplaces and clearly defined work processes: as important in 1966 as they are today.
1970 The demobus keeps on running, the customer base keeps on growing.
1970 New markets: in 1970 Endress+Hauser opens a sales center in the USA. In Japan, the company acquires a share in the tank level specialists Sakura.
1971 Ludwig Hauser – then aged 76 – retires in 1971. Production starts this year in the USA.
1973 Company parties have always enjoyed a great tradition at Endress+Hauser – like here in 1973 in Maulburg (third from left: Klaus Endress’ future wife Irene). The company then had 710 employees.
1975 A snapshot of 1975 - the plant in Maulburg keeps on growing. Aged 80, co-founder Ludwig Hauser dies the same year – the Endress family becomes sole shareholders.
1978 New frontiers: starting in 1977, Reinach-based Flowtec manufactures flowmeters. Conducta in Gerlingen enlarges its product range with analysis measurement engineering.
1978 Tubes for flowmeters with large nominal widths.
1980 Trade shows promote brand awareness – the Endress+Hauser stand at the 1980 EnviTec in Düsseldorf.
1981 Say cheese: people for process automation proudly presenting their instruments in 1981.
1984 Strong in research and development: as early as 1984, computers were a common sight at Endress+Hauser.
1984 Know-how: Endress+Hauser acquires early expertise in calibration.
1984 Honor: Georg H. Endress is awarded the German Federal Cross of Merit First Class in 1984.
1985 Expansion: 12 million Deutschmark invested in another new Maulburg building in 1985.
1986 Progress in bits and bytes: electronics and digitalization taking huge strides.
