Features of the “Tool” • Interactive Dashboards • Page Prompts • Column Selectors • Drills • Hierarchy Drills • Account • Department • Fund • Amount
Dashboard Page Prompts • Page Prompts select the actual values that will be displayed on the dashboard • The default values available for page prompts will be based on the user ID
Page Prompts and Column Selectors • Page Prompts select the values • Column Selectors select the information that you want to see • Values that can be chosen as Column Selectors • All chartfields • Hierarchy values • Aggregate data • Other data as needed
Chartfield Hierarchy Drills • Each level can be selected as a column on the dashboard – Column Selector • Can drill from the value selected to lower levels in the hierarchy
Account Hierarchy • Account Hierarchy • Account Type – Revenue, Expense, Assets, etc • Account Cat Type – Salaries, Benefits, O&E, Student • Account Cat – Salaries, Communication, Travel, etc • FIRMS Object – Account level reported to CSU • Account – PeopleSoft Account
Department Hierarchy • DeptID (Defines 5 Levels) • Dept Level 1 – Academic Affairs • Dept Level 2 – College of Engineering • Dept Level 3 – Mechanical Engineering • Dept Level 1 – Administration and Finance • Dept Level 2 – Finance • Dept Level 3 – Fiscal Services • Dept Level 4 – General Accounting • Dept Level 5 – Property
Sample Dashboard with Column Selectors “Account Type” has been chosen as the column selector Department Level 1 has been chosen as the Column Selector Both Account Type and Dept Level 1 can be drilled to get to the next level in the Hierarchy

Sample Dashboard with Column Selectors Department Level 1 has been chosen as the Column Selector Dept Level 1 can be drilled to get to the next level in the Hierarchy – Dept Level 2

Sample Dashboard with Column Selectors Account Type chosen in Column 1 and Dept Level 2 chosen for column 2 – Can still drill to lower levels
Drilling on Amounts • When you drill on a summary number of amounts, the next level will automatically be by Accounting Period • Then you drill on the specific accounting period and the drill will go to the actual transaction
Once drilled on amounts, can also use column selectors. Once drilled – chose column selector Dept Level 2 and Account Category Can continue to drill to actual transactions from here

Finance Dashboards have 8 Tabs or Pages • My Revenue and Expense • My Open PO’s • My Trial Balance • My Revenue and Expense Transactions • My Trial Balance Transaction • My Encumbrance Transactions • My Budget Transactions • My Projects
Views • Each Tab or Page on the dashboard can have multiple reports • Each report can have multiple views
