  2. Language Arts at a Glance • Students have finished their creative writing projects. • FSA testing is complete. Students worked hard on their practice assessments. • Students have worked hard on their Winter Haikus. • We are also working on Limericks in class • I encourage parents to ensure that their child is studying for the weekly spelling test • Signing the agenda daily will help ensure parent-teacher communication

  3. Mathematics Symmetry and Data Analysis • Students performed a lot better on their data analysis tests. Many students studied but they do need to ask me questions. Often students do not complete practice tests or do not show enough work in their homework. In order to be successful in Math students do need to ask for help. • Students this month have been hard at work in understanding how to create 3D prisms. • We should continue to strive to have full participation in the sample test provided on the class website. • I encourage parents to check agendas daily, and to sign the agenda daily. It is a tool for me and you to communicate.

  4. February Art • Please find samples in the appendix • This month we focused on Valentines art.

  5. Science • Weather Reports were all done very well. • Students are hard at work on their Science Fair projects. • We have had a lot of computer time in the lab to complete our research. • Beginning of March, students will be assembling their projects in class • The in class Science Fair Presentations will be on Monday March 10. This date may be changed if students need more time to complete their work. • The School Science Fair will be on March 14.

  6. Social Studies • We have finished studying about the copper inuit. • Students will now begin to focus on different aboriginal groups in BC and early European exploration in the coming term.
