  2. Heroin • A refined form of morphine, much more potent and has a higher chance of dependence, • Heroin is usually white or dark powders, • Must be dissolved in water to by injected. • Withdrawal symptoms are more tolerable when you use “METHADONE”

  3. RISK • Slow respiratory failure. • Inflammation and infections due to careless injections. • Irregular menstrual cycle • Withdrawal symptoms in new born child for mothers taking heroin.

  4. Long term effects • Addiction itself causes withdrawal symptoms such as, bone pain, diarrhea, vomiting, cold flashes, leg movements, and GOOSE bumps. • HIV/AIDS from needle use. • Liver/lung disease

  5. Morphine • Hospital pain killer • Used to treat very bad pain • Injected straight into the blood stream. • Gives you about a 2 hour high.
