  1. Creating a Kerberos ID • Go to https://websec.it.siu.edu/util/id_request.html to create your kerberos ID • A window as shown below appears.

  2. Enter the information in the fields • The SIU Student/Staff # is your Social Security Number • The Pin is the day and the last 2 digits of the year of your birth. • Enter your desired Id for email in the Kerberos ID field

  3. Your ID be available only after an hour. You can check it by logging into Webmail. • Go to https://webmail.siu.edu . Enter your Kerberos ID and Password which is usually the last 4 digits of your SSN and your Pin number • You can change the password in www.infotech.siu.edu . • You can log on to the SIU 56K connection with your Kerberos ID after midnight on the day it was created and the password was changed

  4. To create a dial up connection ,to connect to the internet through your Kerberos ID, follow the tutorials in http://www.infotech.siu.edu/csc/howto/windows/winxpdun.html • The phone number you need to dial up to connect is 618.453.2888
