Dates to Remember • Thursday, October 25th – Portfolio Night 4:30-6:00 p.m. • October 29th  – November 9th - Conferences (Sign-up will be on-line) • Thursday, March 14th – Information Fair 4:00-5:30 p.m. • March 18th – 29th – Conferences (Sign-up will be on-line) • April 22nd – April 30th (one of those days)  – Field Trip to Old Cahill School (ALL parent volunteers are welcome to attend)

So…get on your way!” -Dr. Seuss As the children move through their year of 2nd grade, keep in mind… • In reading, they are moving beyond phonetic decoding toward reading more fluently and focusing on comprehension. • In math, they are moving beyond the acquisition of math skills (basic facts, coin names and value, etc.) toward use of these tools in problem solving. • In writing, they are moving beyond a list of general ideas toward a more developed piece that has a clearer beginning, middle, and ending.

  14. When you know your family is going on a vacation and your child will miss some school time, please submit a TRAVEL PLANS form to the office.

  15. Due to the more than 800 students enrolled at Plymouth Creek this year, we are asking that parents make a change when picking up their students from school. Please wait outside of the building instead of the front lobby for your child. We appreciate your cooperation.

  16. This year, students will not be allowed to ride a different bus home for a play date due to overcrowding. The only acceptable reason for a different bus will be childcare.
