  2. Description Leopards are mammals that walk on four feet. Leopards have long tails. Snow leopards have stocky bodies. They weigh up to 121 pounds (55 kilogram). Leopards have brownish yellow fur with black doughnut shaped spots. Leopards are nocturnal.

  3. Survival A mother leopard keeps her cubs safe from predators. She hides them in trees & dens. People are cutting down trees & taking the leopards territory to grow food. Some leopards survive even in desert areas.

  4. Diet A leopard is a carnivore. A carnivore is a meat eater. Leopards hunt antelope, birds & small mammals. Leopards kill impala & zebra.

  5. Habitat Leopards live in Asia & Africa. Snow leopards live in Asia . Leopards spend most of their lives in trees. They make their homes on rocky mountain cliffs.

  6. Other Facts Two or three cubs are born in a den. A mother leopard keeps her cubs clean by licking them all over. The young leopards leave their mothers when they are about two years old.
