Impact of Population An approximate 4.9 million deaths have been recorded. The probability of dying younger than five is about 257 of 1000. Approximately 3.7 million have died post-war due to deprivation. Increase in population.
Current Conditions Schools have been put up different locations. Parliamentary polls. Taliban states that they will disruption the elections. Have appointed directors. Unable to hold credible elections. US troops dispatchment.
Current Conditions Continued… Now have distribution of powers throughout different districts. Undermining of legitimacy of Kabul government. Taliban moved more northward to Kunduz and Baghlan. Insurgent attacks are at a high. 30% of the country is unsafe for travel.
Current Conditions Continued… Election Commission plans to cut down around 80 centers. Nangarhar has now had many terrorist attacks and assassinations. A reported 40% of Afghans do not have food most of the time. 36% of the population is believed to live in poverty the whole time.
Current Conditions Continued… Weak asset base Only 24% of Afghan’s above the age of 15 can read and write.
