  2. EMPEROR PENGUINS • MALE PENGUINS STAY THOUGHOUT THE WINTER TO KEEP THE EGG WARM. • THE FEMALES MIGRATE AND COME BACK AFTER WINTER. • THE EGGS HATCH ONCE SUMMER HITS AND THE FEMALES COME BACK.

POLAR BEARS • BABY POLAR BEARS ARE BORN DURRING WINTER HIBERNATION AND FIRST SEE THE BIG WORLD WHEN WINTER IS OVER. • ICE BEGINS TO MELT FAST ONCE POLAR BEARS COME OUT OF HYBERNATION, SO THEY HAVE TO MOVE FAST TO GET FOOD BEFORE THE ICE BREAKS UP TOO MUCH. • HALF OF ALL POLAR BEAR CUBS DIE IN THEIR FIRST YEAR.

  4. KARABOO • EVERY YEAR 3 MILLION KARABOO MIGRATE ACROSS THE ARTIC TUNDRA. • WOLVES SHADOW THE KARABOO IN HOPES TO GET A KILL. BUT THE KARABOO ARE FASTER THAN THE WOLVES SO NOT MANY GET A KILL.

  5. TIGER FOREST • IN THE NORTHERN HEMOSPHERE, JUST BELOW THE ARTIC CIRCLE. • CREATES SO MUCH OXYGEN IT CHANGES THE ATMOSPHERE THERE. • THE FOREST IS THREATED BY THE CHANGING CLIMATE, HUMANS, AND CIVILIZATION, NEEDING WOOD.

  6. AMUR LEPOARD • THE AMIL LEPOARD IS THE RAREST BIG CAT IN THE WORLD. • THERE ARE ONLY 40 LEFT! • CAN BE FOUND IN SOUTHEAST RUSSIA AND NORTHEAST CHINA

  7. GREAT WHITE SHARKS • GREAT WHITES MIGRATE THOUSANDS OF MILES TO BE ABLE TO GET FOOD YEAR ROUND. • THEY HAVE 300 TEETH • GREAT WHITES CAN DETECT ONE DROP OF BLOOD IN 25 GAL OF WATER AND CAN SENSE EVEN TINY AMOUNTS OF BLOOD IN THE WATER UP TO 3 MI AWAY.

  8. KALAHARI DESERT • COVERS ABOUT 350,000 SQUARE MILES OF SOUTHERN AFRICA. • ANIMALS MIGRATE IN HUGE GROUPS TO TRY TO FIND WATER. • ELEPHANTS MAKE THE BIGGEST MIGRATION. • SUPPORTS MORE PLANTS AND ANIMALS THAN A TYPICAL DESERT.
