  2. Why Study Dust Storm ? • Climate impacts (radiative properties of dust particles) • Environmental impacts (puluted particles interact with dust particles) • Social impacts (visibility associated transportation hazards)

  3. Dust Storm Research Areas • Observational (collecting samples, analyzing their physical characteristics, chemical composition and radiative properties) • Modeling (studying dust transportation using various models) • Statistical (trying to find correlations between dust storm frequency and large scale environmental conditions such as winds, soil moisture, vegetation, precipitation, and cyclone activity)
