ABOUT TIB • TIB is an emblematic trade fair for ROMEXPO, an event of high importance for the national economy being also a “must-visit” event in the agenda of any professional in the field. • This event has recorded a number of premieres for both Romania and Romexpo: • TIB was the first trade fair organized by Romexpo in 1970; • TIB has the longest tradition in Romania; • This year, the event is celebrating the 39th edition; • TIB is organized under an unique concept in Romania, which has no competition; • The fair is internationally certified, being an UFI* approved event; • Bucharest International Technical Fair takes place in the same period with INVENTIKA – The International Salon of Inventions and Innovation and ExpoEnergiE - International fair for renewable energy, conventional energy, equipment and technologies for oil and gas. • * UFI – The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry www.romexpo.ro www.tib.ro

Brief history of exhibitions 1970-1993 • 1991 • The first edition of ROMMEDICA - International exhibition of medical equipment and instruments, and ROMPHARMA – International exhibition of equipment for human and veterinary use. • 1992 • The first edition of ROMCONTROLA - International exhibition of equipment and control instruments. • The first edition of BIFE-TIMB, International Trade Fair for Furniture, wood, accessories, furnishings, equipment and installations for the exploitation and industrialization of wood. • 1993 • The first edition of TIB, held under UFI international certification. • 1970 The first edition of the Bucharest International Fair (opening October 13) - international trade show dedicated initially to building machine industry. • 1974 The first edition of TIBCO (opening May 12) - international trade show dedicated to consumer goods. The first edition of the International Exhibition of Chemistry. • 1977 The first edition of TECHNO-EXPO exhibition specialized in technical products. • 1980 The last edition of TIBCO (ended on May 15th) before the official announce for suspending the event as a result of political decision. Since 1994, ROMEXPO exhibition programme has grown from year to year, now reaching more than 40 exhibitions and trade fairs.

TIB Records • 96.350 sqm – rented surface at the XVth edition in 1989 • 51 countries participating in 1989, considering the fact that the number of world states at that time was less than 150. • "The European Union presence at TIB is a natural reaction to the evolution of the exhibition industry, which became one of the most important in Eastern Europe." FACTS AND FIGURES • The previous edition of TIB gathered over 322 companies from 16 countries on a 16,000-sqm exhibition area. • Countries represented: China, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Austria, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Germany, Slovakia, Denmark, South Korea, Great Britain and Czech Republic. • Within the 4 days of exhibition, TIB hosted over 10,000 professional visitors, to whom the companies have presented the latest technologies and machines. • At 2012 edition, for the first time in Romania, in order to attract foreign investments, TIB hosted China Engineering & Technologies Salon, which was attended by more than 40 companies interested in external projects concerning infrastructure, construction and energy. • On this occasion, were discussed future collaboration opportunities for expanding business relations between Chinese companies and the Romanian entrepreneurs. www.romexpo.ro www.tib.ro
