  1. The Media and the War in Iraq SF 183: Politics, Power and the Media

  2. Iraq and Al Qaeda? Wolfowitz interview with the San Francisco Chronicle in 2001 Collier: “But I'm not asking you to disclose classified information of course, but are you convinced that there are operational links between the Iraqi government and Al Qaeda?” Wolfowitz: “I never said there are.” Collier: “And so if the to what extent...” Wolfowitz: “We also know that there are things that haven't been explained... like the meeting of Mohammad Atta with Iraqi officials in Prague.”

  3. Bush Doctrine: Preemption Collier: “Which now is alleged right? There is some doubt to that?” Wolfowitz: “…the premise of your question seems to be, we wait for proof beyond a reasonable doubt. I think the premise of a policy has to be we can't afford to wait for proof beyond a reasonable doubt…”

  4. Iraq and War on Terror Collier: “…the concern is, any major offensive against or action dealing with Iraq would both distract US resources in the fight against Al Qaeda and extremely diplomatically complicate the war against al Qaeda.” Wolfowitz: “But, sometimes focus may be the right thing; sometimes a broader campaign may be the right thing.”

  5. Atta Link to Iraq? LA Times reports in August 2002: “Despite deep doubts by the CIA and FBI, the White House is now backing claims that Sept. 11 skyjacker Mohamed Atta secretly met five months earlier with an Iraqi agent in the Czech capital, a possible indication that President Saddam Hussein's regime was involved in the terrorist attacks.”

  6. Atta Link to Iraq? White House: “available evidence of the long-disputed meeting in Prague ‘holds up.’” CIA/FBI: “But the CIA and FBI concluded months ago that they had no hard evidence to confirm Czech claims that the Prague meeting took place.” No Evidence of a Prague Meeting "We ran down literally hundreds of thousands of leads and checked every record we could get our hands on, from flight reservations to car rentals to bank accounts," FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III said.

  7. Atta Link to Iraq? Did the US Knew Were Was At The Time? Apparently. “Records indicate that [Atta] was in Virginia Beach, Va., between April 8 and 11, 2001--when he was reported to be in Prague--possibly casing U.S. Navy facilities.”
