Palestine and Isreal. Palestine. According to biblical history Moses leads the Jewish people out of Egypt and back to their homeland state called Israel. In 61 B.C. Roman troops invade and take over Jerusalem (capital of Israel) Romans put down Jewish revolt and drive them out of Jerusalem.

  2. Palestine • According to biblical history Moses leads the Jewish people out of Egypt and back to their homeland state called Israel. • In 61 B.C. Roman troops invade and take over Jerusalem (capital of Israel) • Romans put down Jewish revolt and drive them out of Jerusalem.

  3. Muslim rulers • In 638 B.C. Arab Armies (Muslims) move north from Arabia to conquer most of the middle East including Israel. • It is at this point when the name of Israel is changed to Palestine. • Muslim powers control the region until the early 1900’s • Many conflicts with crusaders from outside countries but Muslims mostly remain in control • Most of the region began to accept the religion of Islam

Jewish History • Up to this point in the 1900’s the Jewish people were forced out of Palestine and reside all across Europe. • Zionist Movement- movement of the Jews towards their homeland Israel. • In 1917 Balfour Declaration • British Mandate (United States supports this and the Jewish state of Israel) • Hitler blames all economic problems in Germany on the Jewish people. • Concentration camps are formed by the Germans and Hitler.

After WWII • The Camps are liberated • Jewish people have no where to go and migrate back to their homeland what they called Israel but was noted as Palestine. • Now the Jews and Palestinians (Muslims) have to share the country • Wars- (1967 6 day war, the war of attrition, the October war, 1982 war in Lebanon, Terrorism in the United States.)
