How do you apply ? for National Staff positions, in your home country, links to the WVI Africa web-sites, are available on www.wvi.org with details of vacancies and how to apply direct to the local office in Africa. for WV International vacancies, go to www.wvi.org ‘employment pages’, “register” & Apply On-Line .. applications will initially be forwarded the WV Regional Recruitment office according to your nationality, .. if you are resident in the UK, the applications may then be transferred to the WV UK office, to be considered for preliminary interview.

International Recruiters are based in … • Canada • Australia / New Zealand • Germany • Ireland • Africa • Latin America • Thailand • USA • as well as the UK and recruit candidates from their regions, to meet the global needs in any WVI programme

Whatis theRecruiters task ? • Find suitable people to work in WV projects overseas, interview and screen applicants • Liaise with the other WV recruiters • Monitor the International vacancies • Communicate with field Managers about potential candidates and programme needs • Agree conditions for International appointments

Selection Criteria • Relevant professional qualifications and skills • about 2 years minimum, recent overseas experience in a developing country • Appropriate Language ability, e.g. : Portuguese, Spanish, Swahili or French
Recruitment Involves ..…… • Advertising - eg: Christians Abroad-WSE, Christian Vocations, OneWorld, DevNetJobs, ReliefWeb Internet sites, Guardian Weekly, Careers Fairs and Exhibitions • Enquiries - receiving CV’s, etc. and responding with std. e-mails directing enquirers to apply on the WVI web-site • Liaison - with WV UK colleagues in other groups/teams. • Applications - reviewing on-line application forms, assessing candidates potential to match with vacancies / requirements ( CV’s by e-mail alone are not acceptable) • Interviews + reports to field managers, arranging telephone interviews and selection visits where req’d • Screening - incl. Child Protection Interview, Police Check and References
Appointment Involves …….. • Contracts ( International or Expat ) • Medicals ( InterHealth or MKOH clinic ) • Orientation ( WVI policies including Child Protection ) • Introduction to WV UK staff • Visa and Travel arrangements • Luggage transportation

WVI staff work in almost 100 countries But 97% of our 20,000 staff are nationals in their own countries
