This book is about a class hamster named Humphrey that try’s to help his classmates, teacher and Janitor. While he’s doing all that he still has time to write his own dictionary. He also has a lock-that-doesn’t-lock on his cage. For people, however, it does lock. Because of the lock he can sneekout of the cage any time. What this book is about
There are a lot of characters in this book but the main character is Humphrey. Humphrey has golden and white hair. He is smart and always wants to help people. These are some more characters… Mrs. Brisbane is the teacher. She always helps every one (or at least try’s to). She gave all of the students nicknames in room 26. Now let’s jump to the students. The students have very odd personalities but some aregood and some are bad. These are some nicknames that the students have… I-heard-that-Kirk, Raise-your-had-Hiedi, Speak-up-Sayeh, and Pay-attention-Art. There are a lot more students and nick names but I don’t want to spoil all of them. This looks like Humphrey. (But on a bed). Characters
The main settings in this story are the class room, the school and all the children's houses that Humphrey goes to every week-end. These are more of the settings: A.j.’s yard where Humphrey meets a cat; the field near the school where the children go for fire drills; and of course Humphreys cage. The class room is pretty big and whenever there is a holiday coming up the class room gets decorated. The school isn’t described much in the story but it is very big. A.j.’s yard is surrounded by side walk and that is were Humphrey meets the cat. The field is right next to the school and it’s not just for fire drills, it is also is for a place to play at recess. Humphrey’s cage is very neat (because Humphrey keeps it that way). In Humphrey’s cage is a sleeping corner, a wheel and ladder. There are a lot more things in his cage too. There are more settings but you’ll have to read the book to find out the rest of them. Settings
The problem is that Humphreys “teacher” might retire and if she does where will Humphrey go. Humphrey has a lot on his mind. He has to help his teacher and help all the students in room 26. Will he be able to help everybody and make sure Mrs. Brisbane doesn't retire? It’s all up to Humphrey! He also has another problem. The janitor might have been taken to outer space and the person that replaced him might be from another planet! (Well that’s what Humphrey thinks). Do you think he can solve all of this? Well read the book and find out! problem
1.When Humphrey gets a hamster ball and the teacher lets him run around in the ball on the floor; and Humphrey gets out of the class. Mrs. Brisbane got in trouble because the gym teacher (who is really mean) says Humphrey shouldn't be out of the class room. 2. When a girl comes in the class room at the time the janitor usually comes in and Humphrey believes the janitor has been taken to outer space and the girl is from a different planet .She keeps on coming day after day and Humphrey gets freaked out! 3. When Humphrey goes home with Mrs. Brisbane and figures out that she was suppose to sign a paper telling whether she would teach next year. She was talking to Mr. Brisbane and she said she might retire. Humphrey didn’t want her to… not one little bit! Three major events
