Introduction • The experiment: • You have been entered a competition to transform a society that has a population of 5000 people
The society at present • The society at present is in disarray: • Crime is high • Unemployment issues • There are drug and alcohol misuse, • Little education • Prejudice has allowed rivalry between races to exist. There are people of all religions present in this society
Continued • You need to transform this society into a well balanced group who are happy and have a good sense of morality
Task 1 - The law / rules • You need to create a set rules that are suited to all religions / races that you want your society to live by • You will need to investigate the different rules that religions follow. Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, Islam and what rules are important to the atheists
Task 1 continued • Ensure you show research of • 10 Commandments • 5 Precepts • 5 Pillars of Islam • Which should be applied to ALL of your society, and become law – would you adjust the wording? Which will you allow to be followed on a personal level? Should this be encouraged?
Example for law • My first rule that would become law and should be followed by all members of society is “Do not take life without good reason” • This rule is based in the 10 commandments and is one of the 5 precepts. In fact all religions believe that you should respect life. I think that in some situations life maybe taken such as ……
