  2. Write the Vision • Hab. 2:2, “And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”

  3. God Has a Vision • God has a vision and a plan for Himself and for His people. • That vision is revealed by His prophets.

  4. God Has a Vision • God has a vision of you and for you. • Of who you are and • What you shall become • How does God see you? • How do you see yourself? • This depends on what you believe about God and about yourself.

  5. Discovering God’s Vision For You • List the things you do that make you feel useful. • List the things that you do that pleases God most. • List the 10 things most valuable in your life. • List the 5 things are you most committed to in life. • List some of the things that are not negotiable with you.

  6. Discovering God’s Vision For You • List your strengths. • List your weaknesses. • List the things you are doing right now to reach your full potential. • List the things you can change about your world.

  7. Discovering God’s Vision For You • List your life-guiding principles that define who you are. • List the five most important roles in your life. • List and prioritize the greatest needs that you can do something about.

  8. Write the Vision • Bring your good intentions to life. • Prov. 29:18, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he,” (KJV). • Prov. 29:18, “Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint; But he that keepeth the law, happy is he,” (American Standard Version). • Prov. 29:18, “When prophecy shall fail, the people shall be scattered abroad: but he that keepeth the law, is blessed,” (1899 Douay-Rheims Bible).

Faith and Vision • Faith begins with a vision. • You cannot have faith without a vision. • Heb 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” • Faith pleases God. • Heb. 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

  10. Vision and Goals • There is a difference between a vision and goals. • A vision may be • Intangible • Unquantifiable and • Indefinite in time • A vision may be “pie in the sky by and by.”

  11. Vision and Goals • A goal must be • tangible • quantifiable and • accomplished by a certain time

An Example • Vision : To Have A More Intimate Relationship With My Wife (Intangible, indefinite, & unquantifiable). • Goals: (tangible, quantifiable, & dateable) • Listen carefully to her for 15 days rehearse the events of her day. • Consistently carry out the trash as often as necessary for 21 days. • Vacuum floors, do laundry, and dust, once each week for 3 weeks.

  13. Different Types of Goals • There are different types of goals for different types of visions. • Spiritual goals • Health goals • Educational goals • Professional or occupational goals • Personal goals

  14. God’s Vision • God’s vision is for you to become like Him. • To be faithful as He is faithful • To love like He loves • To love truth because He is the Truth • To be holy for He is holy

  15. God’s Vision • The vision of the Lord is for revival in our lives. • He wants to pour out His power upon His people: • Power to discern: • Good from evil • Right from wrong • Love from hatred

  16. God’s Love • The Lord wants to fill you with His love, to help you love others who do not love themselves. • Love covers a multitude of sins.

  17. Wisdom • The Lord wants to fill you with His wisdom. • Wisdom is to love and to do right and to hate wrong. • Wisdom is knowing how to choose life and not death, good and not evil. • The anointing of the Lord will give you boldness and authority over the works of darkness.
