  3. Ms. Haber- Your Librarian • Eighth year at Woodward • Undergraduate degree from UT (Hook ‘em Horns!) • Attended UCLA library school • Master of Library Science degree from SCSU • Loves reading, gardening, running, needle crafts and chocolate!

  4. When may we use the library? • School days • Monday - Friday • 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. • With your class • On your own

  5. What are the library rules? • Follow all school rules • Use library manners • Respect others • Use quiet voices • Walk • No food or drinks • Use computers appropriately • Check e-mail at home • Educational activities only • Treat books with care • Beware of dogs! • Watch for water hazards! • Use a bookmark!

  6. What may we do in the library? • Browse for pleasure reading • Take Accelerated Reader tests • Work on research projects • Do your homework • Relax and read!

  7. How many books can we check-out? • 4 books for 2 weeks • No fines for overdue books • Charges for lost books - • $20 for hard cover • $10 for paperback • refunds are given when returned

  8. How do we find books in the library? • Search the Computer Catalog • Find the book’s call number • Write it down • Locate on shelf

  14. How is the library organized? Three main sections: • Fiction- made up stories Easy- E Chapter Books- Fic Story Collection- SC • Non-Fiction- Facts • Use Dewey Decimal System • Organized by subject • Biography- Bio • Reference- REF Fic ROW
