  2. Procedures • Ice Cream- ice cream can be bought any day and paid for at the register. It is now 0.75 cents. Any money that comes in for ice cream is sent to the café in the morning. Please talk with your child about eating the ice cream after they eat their lunch.  • Snack A-La-Cart-you have the choice to let your child buy “extras” at lunch. If you DO NOT want your child to buy any extras, please fill out the BLOCK form in your folder and leave with me this evening. W:\0kindergarten\SNACK A La CART PRICES.docx • Breakfast-if you would like your child to eat breakfast in the morning, we ask that they be here no later than 7:25 so they can eat and be prepared for Viking Voyage at 8:00 (this effects mostly car riders) • Lunch Money, Excuses and Transportation Notes-please have ALL notes and money labeled and put in daily folder. Any transportation changes MUST be made before 1:00 and will only be accepted in writing.

  5. Viking Voyage- Language and Math Everyday the children have the opportunity to have Viking Voyage time. This time is specifically designed to help supportour youngstersas well as challenge our young learners. Activities are planned for tutorial and enrichment .

  8. SAXON PHONICS Saxon Phonics is a success oriented program that enables most children to develop a solid foundation in phonics and thus become successful readers and spellers. It may be used in conjunction with any other reading program, providing children the information they need to be successful!! -Readers -Worksheets - Sight Word Practice

  11. Olweus Bullying Prevention Program At VCE The efforts of this program are designed to improve peer relations and make the school a safer and more positive place for students to learn and develop. This is the most researched and best-known bullying prevention program available today. Olweus Day is every Friday in which all students K-5 receive a classroom lesson about preventing bullying. VCE's Olweus kick off week will be Octobe1st- 5th. Additional information is forthcoming.

  12. HOMEWORK NIGHTLY READING Have your child read their book to you nightly and initial reading log. (Mon.-Thurs.) PROJECTS Every so often, family projects come home that are fun and exciting!!

  13. Parent Volunteers Classroom Helpers Come in and help monitor activities with small groups or individual students. Mystery Readers Please bring a story from home to share with our class!! Supplies Please send in supplies for special activities throughout the year.
