A doctor or family member makes the decision for you 4. Assisted Suicide? Providing a seriously ill person with things to help them die. 5. Euthanasia - legal or illegal? Illegal because….

  3. Lesson Objective The aim of this lesson is to use the film “Million Dollar Baby” to help you understand the differences of opinion that Christians have about euthanasia.

  4. Lesson Outcomes • GRADE C - will be able to recall different Christian denominations and what they think about euthanasia • GRADE B - will be able to give reasons why standing by your religious beliefs can be so hard • GRADE A - will be able to analyse the religious beliefs looked at this lesson and complete a (d) type exam answer.

  5. All Christians believe... The Sanctity of Life They believe… • God is the giver of life • God’s creation should be protected • All life has a purpose • God decides when life begins or ends Can you remember the four points that explain the Sanctity of Life?

  6. Making links • All Christians believe that euthanasia is wrong but there are slightly different attitudes between MOST and SOME. • Complete the sheet to give you the arguments that they use.
