  3. Microsoft Word In Word I have learned how to: Insert a screen capture Make a table of contents and table of figures Insert a table Enter charts and link them to my work in Excel

  4. Microsoft Excel In Excel I have learned: How to make and customize tables How to keep records of my study habits How to chart my data How to filter my data to find correlations, and then how to chart my correlations

  5. Nutrition Using the nutrition database I learned how: To find the recommended calories I should eat to gain weight To keep track of my eating habits and exercise Track my Net calories Find a correlation between my net calories and my weight

  6. Nutrition Correlation Chart Positive net calories means weight gained and negative means weight lost

  7. Listening Skills Keys to good listening skills: Concentration Comprehension Acknowledgement Good note taking Not multitasking Focusing Eye contact Not getting distracted or being a distraction

  8. Note Taking Keys to good note taking: Practice Effort Come to class prepared Good listening skills Focus Abbreviate, don’t use complete sentences Not doodling or getting distracted

  9. Study Skills Study in a quiet area with no distractions Don’t study in bed, you could fall asleep Take breaks Study during the day Discuss with peers Adapt study habits from high school to college

  11. Multitasking Don’t Do It!!!!!!!! It’s not effective! It wastes time and effort!
