  2. “We can work together for a better world with men and women of goodwill, those who radiate the intrinsic goodness of humankind.”Wangari Maathai quote Wangari Maathai early back ground Wangari Maathai was a well known political and environmental activist in Africa. Wangari Maathai was born as “Wangari Muta” on April 1, 1940, in the village of Tetu division. Maathai first attended ihithe primary school. Then she later switched to Loreto convent secondary school in Lumuru. When Wangari Maathai was finished with her studies in Kenya she studied biology in the United States and Germany. After this she went to mount st. scholastica college and became the first women to earn a decorate degree in the year of 1964. Although she earned a decorate degree she also earned a master of science degree in 174 from the university of Pittsburgh. Therefore, you can see why Wangari Maathai was such a well known environmental and political activist.

  3.       “African women in general need to know that it's OK for them to be the way they are - to see the way they are as a strength, and to be liberated from fear and from silence.”Wangari Maathai Wangari Maathai             Wangari maathai has hade many careers through her life. She founded the green belt movement which helped to plant over 20 million trees. In 2002 Wangari Maathai was elected parliament. Kibabi named wangari maathai deputy minister in the ministry of environment, natural resources and wild life in 2003. The only family that we know about is her husband and he ran for parliament in the 1970’s and from their she organized work for poor people and soon that became an organization; this helped out many people.             From what I researched and read about Wangari Maathai I believe that she really is a notable women and a good role model for young girls and women everywhere. As women from Arica she went to the top schools and got a doctorate degree, a degree in biological science, a science degree, and obtained a PhD. many women do not get to go that far and she did and that’s aaninspiration. Although, she has gotten arrested many time it was because she was standing up for what she believed in but now she is going to be 69 and still inspiring the young people.

  4. All of us have a God in us, and that God is the spirit that unites all life, everything that is on this planet Wangari Maathai             Although Wangari Maahai has been arrested many time in the past, she still should be admired by everyone around the world. She should be admired by people around the world because she has worked to save the earth and is an inspiration to many people. The way that she was brought up was that women were less then men, and the odds were against her but he push through and went to school and got many degrees and now she is one of the most famest people known through out the world for doing some thing to help the world and benefit them as well. Se has won the nobel peace prize too; she’s an inspiration. Therefore she should be admired by everyone for all the things she has done in her life time.
