ORGANIZE YOUR INFO • Find a FREE program where you can build your family tree • Family Tree Builder • Family Tree Builder gets downloaded to your desk top, you enter in info then upload it to the web
GOING FARTHER • Find other people’s family trees • www.rootsweb.com RootsWeb WorldConnect Project is a website where you can share your family tree and get more answers about your family tree. It’s a free part of Ancestory.com. While it’s not as easy to navigate around, it has TONS of great information…you’ll just have to dig for it. • Rootsweb is where I found 80% of my information. Here you can also find a Social Security Death Index.
PAID SITES • Ancestory.com • Heritage.com These are sites that you can use if you pay a monthly fee. Be wary. Most genealogical information is available free! (SS Info, Census Info, Military Records) If you want to try one, have all your info ready to go, then get a free trial. Cancel it before you have to pay.
LIBRARY DATABASE • Heritage Quest Online • Search Census records and local history books • Search some military records
