  2. Rectangles • What is a rectangle by definition? • A Quadrilateral with four right angles. • Why is every rectangle a parallelogram? • Because both pairs of opp. angles are

  3. RHOMBUS • What is a rhombus? • A Quadrilateral with four congruent sides. • Why is a rhombus a parallelogram? • Because both pairs of opp. sides are

  4. SQUARE • What is a square? • A Quadrilateral with four right angles and four congruent sides. • Why are all squares parallelograms? • Because both pairs of opp. sides AND/OR angles are

  5. Diagonals! • All diagonals of a rectangle are congruent. • The diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular. • Each diagonal of a rhombus bisects two angles of the rhombus.

  6. What if? • What if an angle of a parallelogram is a right angle? DRAW IT! • What if two consecutive sides of a parallelogram are congruent? DRAW IT!
