  2. The Blessing: Prayer • 1 John 3:22 • We ask and shall receive • Receive because we keep His commandments. • God hears our prayers - 1 Peter 3:12 • Proverbs 15:29

  3. The Blessing: Prayer • Before God hears our prayers we have to hear God’s word, His counsel. • John 9:31 • A condition on this blessing • Worshipper of God • Doer of His will • Acts 8:22 • We need to pray more often.

  4. The Blessing: That When Ever Tempted Help Can Be Found • 1 Corinthians 10:13 • We have a blessing others don’t have – Help in time of temptation. • 2 Peter 2:9

  5. The Blessing: That When Ever Tempted Help Can Be Found • Why do we have that help? • Christ Tempted the same way. • Lust of the Flesh • Lust of the Eye • Pride of Life • Christ did it without sinning. He will help us! Hebrews 4:16

  6. The Blessing: We Can Cast Our Cares on Him • 1 Peter 5:7 • Song # 132 – Does Jesus Care? • We may become over burdened because we don’t cast our cares on Him. • Some times no one here to help! • Matthew 28:19-20 • Footprints in the Sand

  7. The Blessing: Giving • Hard to think of Giving as a Blessing. • As I give I receive • Luke 6:38 • 2 Corinthians 9:6 • Will reap in eternity.

The Blessing: Giving • Give to support the greatest work on earth! • Men/Women, Boys/Girls might hear & Obey the Gospel. • That those who obey might be edified built up in the faith 1 Corinthians 15:58 • Benevolence when needy saints need our help. • As I give God says will reap many fold of what you give.

  9. The Blessing: Peace • Live in a troubled World. • Like peace and quiet • Like calm peace no one likes turmoil. • John 14:27 • Inner peace comes from heaven. • Philippians 4:7

  10. The Blessing: Salvation • Ephesians 1:3 • No greater blessing found than salvation. • If going to be saved have to be in Christ. • 2 Timothy 1:9 • Salvation in two senses • Acts 2:38 – from past sins. • 1 John 2:25 Promised eternal salvation.

  11. The Blessing: Salvation • 2 Timothy 2:10 • Why did Paul go through all he did? • That people like you and I might be saved. • In Christ • How do we get in? • Galatians 3:27 • Where these blessings are.

  12. The Blessing: Salvation • Terms that describe Salvation. • Redeemed • Justified • Reconciled • Born again • New Creature • Sanctified • Purified. • Alternative? • Eternal Torment • Separation from God

  13. Would You Count Your Blessings? • Prayer • Help in time of Temptation • Casting Cares on Him. • Giving • Peace • Salvation
