  2. Introduction I chose to represent Norway in my presentation since my husband is of Norwegian descent. I found it interesting to learn that Norway had 4,908,100 inhabitants in September 2010, and is expected to pass 5 million people in March 2012. Also noteworthy, is the fact that the Norwegian Oil Industry has made Norway one of the wealthiest countries in the world. The Norwegian Parliament has established a Government Pension Fund that at the end of 2011 reached an impressive 3.08 billion Norwegian Kroner, which is approx. $ 531 billion US dollars. Menu

  7. Landscape Norway is a fjord country. There are great fjords to visit, like the Sognafjorden, which is the biggest fjord in Norway with its 180km long finger. The most spectacular fjord is said to be the Geiranger fjord pictured here. Menu

  9. Traditions Traditionally, farming and fishing were the main professions in Norway. There are long traditions for the fishermen along the coast and fjords of Norway to use the old, real glass floats when fishing with nets, and even today they are quite common to be found in the old boathouses. 10. Animals Reindeer, which are also called caribou are found in Norway along with the Arctic fox. Menu
