  1. Friday, October 4th • Write your warm up on a piece of NOTEBOOK PAPER! • What does the phrase “Everything happens for a reason” mean to you? Has anyone ever told you that? Was it after something unfortunate happened? Explain in 3-5 sentences.

  2. Dark Water Rising 11 Minute Essay THIS GOES IN THE NOVEL SECTION OF YOUR READING JOURNAL.

  3. Look at the artwork. Think about the sentence underneath. Do you think it is true? Copy the sentence, the TRUISM, onto your paper as YOUR TITLE.

  4. For the next minute, explain the TRUISM. ~What does it mean?~What is your interpretation of it? ~Has anyone ever told you this before?(1 minutes) Example: I believe the saying, “Everything happens for a reason” means good things can come from anything and everything. You should never let one devastation or disaster ruin your life forever.

  5. Take a breath and INDENT. Think about Dark Water Rising. How does the novel relate to this sentence? EXPAIN AS IF I HAVE NEVER READ THE NOVEL!(3 minutes)
