  2. Isaac Newton Laws • Isaac Newton took his understanding of physics and created three laws which helped explain how rockets worked in space. The laws affected the design of rockets made later in time.

  3. Congreve Rockets • In the 18th Century rockets make a comeback as weapons. Their successful uses in 1792 and 1799 catches the attention of Colonel William Congreve. • Used in many wars such as the War of 1812. Their accuracy was not what defined them but their usefulness in numbers.

  4. William Hale • An Englishman who develops the special spin stabilizing technique. • It caused the rocket to spin as a bullet would. • This technique is still used today.

  5. An end to rocket warfare • Rockets started to decline in use of warfare due to the increasing use of breech loading cannon with rifled barrels, and exploding warheads. • Rockets just returned to being used in peaceful ways.
