  9. 1). Ionic bond– electron from Na is transferred to Cl, this causes a charge imbalance in each atom. The Na becomes(Na+)and the Cl becomes(Cl-), charged particles or ions.

  17. Learning Objectives Students will be able to identify ions in order to determine whether two elements will form an ionic compound. Students will be able to identify the number of atoms in a compound in order to draw ionic bonding between elements. Students will be able to pick out transition elements/metals in ionic compounds in order to write the names the compound using the proper Roman numerals for the charge.
