Characteristics • During the summer months Taiga fills with millions of insects. • In a coniferous forest it’s a short season. • In a coniferous forest their leaves don’t fall off because they are needles . • Taiga temperatures in are 65f (c-7c) high 30F F c-lc) (21c). • Life in Taiga ecosystems are cold and dreary. • The trees in Taiga carry seeds in cones

  3. Location • Taiga is located between 50 degrees latitude north and the Arctic circle.

  4. Plant Life • Needles are leaves • A spruce can keep it’s needles for 15 years ! A Coniferous forest loses their leaves a few at a time. • Needles are adapted to the Taiga environment.

  5. Animal Life • Wolves are one of the top predators in Taiga. • Lynx and small medium mammals and ground dwelling birds live here.
