  2. Equipment needed • Equipment needed to go surfing: • A Surfboard (Single fin thruster etc). • Bathers. (wet suit steamer etc) • A beach with waves • There is also the choice of stand up paddle boards, longboards, body boards and others

Surfing in general • Surfing is a water face sport where the surfer rides a wave to shore. • As fun as surfing may be it is also a very dangerous sport there are many things you have to look out for, there is marine life reefs rocks other surfers many things that could cause you to drown or have a few broken bones, you also have to be good at surfing before you start to ride the bigger waves in which case if you do and you don’t know how you could fall off injure yourself or drown. • Surfing is a sport that takes time and patience to learn your not ever going to get it straight away.

  4. How to surf • When learning to surf it all up to you to decide what kind of waves you would like to start on, it is much easier to start on the very little waves. When catching a wave you need to paddle to keep up with the wave or you are just going to go over or get swamped by the wave, if you successfully gotten onto the wave the next thing you need to do is wait till you are going fast enough or you are nose diving to pop up onto your feet and ride the wave. When riding the wave you can either go straight ahead to shore or you can ride along the wave and possibly get to ride a tube.

  6. When did surfing come to australia? • Surfing first came to Australia in 1915 by a Hawaiian man named Duke Kahanamoku demonstrated surfing at freshwater beach in new south wales. • Whilst staying at freshwater beach Duke made a solid board from local timbers introducing Australia to surfing.
