Class Assignments: You will complete projects and assignments in class. For part of the class, we will use the online Learning Management System – Blackboard Because classroom equipment is necessary for the completion of class assignments, and some students do not have a home computer with Internet connection, homework is not required. However, those of you with computer & Internet access may want to complete your quizzes or other Blackboard assignments at home.
Attendance • Arriving late to work is the number one complaint of employers today, second is poor attendance • Tulsa Tech is preparing you for work, so we emphasize the importance of being in class and ready to work each day • Excessive absences and tardiness will result in a Student Referral for high school students:3 absences – student/teacher conference parents notified • 5 absences, counselor/parent discussion • 9 absences – academic probation until attendance is improved • If you are tardy for any reason, you must get a tardy slip • Early dismissal slips must be shown to your instructor before you leave campus • High School Students - Home school activities do not count against your attendance. You must fill-out & turn in a High School Activity Form
Cell Phones • Once the bell rings for the beginning of class, please put away all cell phones, out of sight, and turn them to silent • You may use your cell phone before class starts, during break, and after class ends • This is the rule in the workplace, time to get used to it • Adults – if you are expecting a work-related or school-related call, just let me know, and you can take it. Must go outside of classroom & to end of hallway • High School Students – if you are expecting an important call from your parents, you must let me know first
Safety • Each students will study & pass several safety tests to earn a Safety Certification.Safe operation of equipment and safe work habits will insure the personal and professional well being of students. Every semester we practice fire, disaster, and intruder on campus (IOC) drills. You must follow all rules pertaining to the drills. There is always a Tulsa County Sheriffon campus for any security issues. You must wear your ID at all times while on campus.
Cafeteria & Commons area Every class will have a 15-minute break time Time to enjoy our wonderful cafeteria, and eat in the commons area while visiting with friends & other students NOTE: You may bring a covered drink or drink with a cap back to class, but absolutely no food or snacks are to be eaten in class. Put your packaged snacks/goodies in your backpacks or other storage for later.
Counselors: Two counselors on Riverside Campus are Ms. Williams & Mrs. Zehr • Ms. Zehr will be your primary counselor. • You may make appointments to see the counselors or may drop by during breaks or before and after school. Mrs. Williams Mrs. Zehr

CTSO Career & Technology Student Organizations CTSO activities provide opportunities for students to gain skills in organization, planning, and leadership. These skills are vital to student success in the business environment. You may join Business Professionals of America (BPA) or Skills USA. BPA dues are $17 and SkillsUSA dues are $13. In previous years, Tulsa Tech has had numerous students place at both state & national competitions. Whether students place or not, competitions encourage students to strive to be the best you can.
NTHS National Technical Honor Society NTHS National Technical Honor Society To be a member of NTHS, you must meet the following qualifications: • Join Business Professionals of America or SkillsUSA • Have an “A” as your semester grade. • Have no more than 12 hours counting both absences & tardies • Why should you join? • You will be initiated in a special ceremony in front of family, friends, and peers. • You will be a member of an Elite Society. • Your Home High School will be notified of this accomplishment. • You can include this on your résumé, job application and in your portfolio.
