Edith Piaf Edith Giovanna Gassion was born on 19 December 1915 at Paris . Abandoned by her mother, she was placed by her traveling showman father in the care of the madam of a cheap Normandy brothel. She had a girl, Marcelle, who died at the two years in 1935 and whose father was called Louis Dupont . She became a singer in 1936 . In the same year she recordid her first record called The Mômes of the bell . She had sentimental relations with Yves Montant and Marcel Serdan . Her songs are : Life in pink – Milord – The anthem with the love – My légionary .She also sang in the United States . The pair of them worked the streets and the camps, and by 1932 Piaf was with a man and pregnant .Edith Piaf died in 1963 in the Maritime Alps because she was given drugs.
