  2. OBJECTIVES • By the end of this lecture, each student should be able to: • Describethe Female Genital Organs (Ovary, Uterus, Uterine Tube & Vagina ). • Describethe male Genatal Organs (Testes,Epidydmis, Vas deferens,Seminal vesicles, & Prostate).

  3. The reproductive tract in females consest of : • Ovary, • Uterus, • Uterine Tube • Vagina • clitoris

  4. the Ovary • Are the female gonads • Theovaries lie adjacent to the lateral pelvic wall • Each ovary is oval shaped, measuring. (4 by 2 cm)

  5. function of the ovary • Theovaries are the organs responsible for the production of • the female germ cells, the ova, • and the female sex hormones, estrogen

  6. Blood Supply • arteries • ovarian artery arises from the abdominal aorta • veins • The ovarian vein drains into the inferior vena cava on the right side and into the left renal vein on the left side.

  7. theUterus • The Theuterus is thick-walled muscular organ. • Lies in the midline between the bladder and rectum

  9. the Uterine tubes • Each uterine tube has • infundibulum • ampulla • isthmus

  10. the Thevagina • It is a fibromuscular tube. • Lies between the rectum posteriorly • and bladderanteriorly

  12. Reproductive system in male : • Internal organs • Testes • Epidydmis • Vas deferens • Seminal vesicles • Bulbourethral glands • Prostate

  13. The testis • The testis is male sex gland. • It lies in the scrotum suspended by the spermatic cord Mohamed Omer

  14. The epididymis • The epididymis is a firm structure lying posterior to the testis. • It has • Head • body • tail inferiorly Mohamed Omer

  15. The Vas deferens • The Vas deferens is afibromuscular tube • The sperm stored at proximal portion of the vas deferens Mohamed Omer

  16. Accessory Glands • Seminal vesicles: Paired saccular glands posterior to the urinary bladder. • The fluid from seminal glands contains fructose which provides an energy source for the sperm. Mohamed Omer

  17. The Prostate gland • is a firm, dense structure that is located just inferior to the urinary bladder. Mohamed Omer
