  1. TQM Presentation By-

  2. Introduction Total Quality Management has a wider application than that of assuring product and service quality but also it is a way of managing people and business to ensure complete customer satisfaction at every stage internally or externally.

  3. Problem Statement • Improving the quality of people, process and any other aspect of management • To incorporate TQM for improving the performance of the organization

  4. Purpose • Usefulness of TQM for improving the performance of the organization • Improving the quality • Reducing the cost • Use of Six Sigma

  5. Hypothesis “Total Quality Management will have a positive effect on any organization performance and management will be able to control efficiency and effectiveness on their work-in-progress”. Stated as the alternative hypothesis (H1) is, “Organization that implements the Six Sigma System of Total Quality Management will benefit and improve the quality of their products”.

  6. Six Sigma Six Sigma is a long-term, forward-thinking initiative designed to fundamentally change the way corporations do business. It is first and foremost "a business process that enables companies to increase profits dramatically by streamlining operations, improving quality, and eliminating defects or mistakes in everything a company does”.

  7. Other Tools • Cause and Effect Matrix • Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA) • T-Tests • Control Charts • Experiments

  8. Limitations • Heavy reliance on secondary data • Chances of Human Error

  9. Research Design The aim of the study is to find out whether implementing the Six Sigma system of Total Quality Management benefits and improves the quality of their products. The data used for this purpose will be mainly secondary data from the organization that have already implemented the Six Sigma system.

  10. Six sigma Six Sigma tells you: • Your don't know what you don't know • You can't do what you don't know • You don't know until you measure • You don't measure what you don't value • You don't value what you don't measure

  11. Statistical Implications • Six Sigma tries to reduce the value of this Sigma i.e., the value of this variation by decreasing the number of original defects in the product. Example if the previous specification limit was X+-3Sigma then now it can be X+-6Sigma because the value of deviation i.e., Sigma (variation) has been reduced by decreasing the number of defects in the original product.

  12. Findings-Case Studies

  13. Findings-Case Studies

  14. Hypothesis Testing Organizations that implement Six Sigma system have experienced positive resolutions to their short falls. This validates the hypothesis. -There has been percentage increase in revenues from 4% to 92% in various organizations by implementing Sixsigma

  15. Conclusion Six Sigma and TQM helps in • Process improvements; • Product and Services improvement; • Supplier improvement; • Design Methodology; • Training and improvement
