  1. Future and Future Perfect

  2. Future Tense • There are two sets of future endings. The set used is determined by a verb’s conjugation. • For 1st and 2nd conjugation, you use the present stem and add bo, bis, bit, bimus, bitis, bunt • For 3rd and 4th conjugation, you use the present stem and am, es, et, emus, etis, ent • Future tense can be recognized by b-vowel (not a) combinations, and ie, but can be difficult to distinguish for regular 3rd conjugation verbs

  3. Passive endings are created by exchanging the active endings for r, ris, tur, mur, mini, ntur • Translations use the word “will” or “will be __ed” Ex. cademusignorabit fallenturperturbabimini

  4. Future Perfect Active • Used to indicate an action that will be past at a future point in time • Future perfect active is created by using the stem from the 3rd principal part • Add endings ero, eris, erit, erimus, eritis, erint (future tense of sum) • Use the translation “will have” Ex. revocaverisculpaverimus
