Agricultural Anchor Projects 2007/08 • Anchor projects identified and supported through CASP: Commodity:District: • Macadamia Ehlanzeni • Sugarcane Ehlanzeni • Essential oils Gert Sibande • Apple production Gert Sibande • Livestock production 3 districts • Horticulture Ehlanzeni (Bushbuckridge)

CASP 2007/08 • Measurable outputs • To drill and equip boreholes (5) R 0,502 • Install pump stations/ Develop irrigation infrastructure (5 789ha) R 67,298 • Buildings and storage facilities (13 Structures) -Dams (1), Access roads (5km) R 30,359 • Fencing (7,5km) R 0,725 • Capacity building (290 beneficiaries) R 1,962 • Contractors and Consultants R 3.500 TOTAL R104,346 • Purpose: • To provide on and off farm infrastructure development

  6. Masibuyele Emasimini • Budget: R30 million • Measurable outputs • Mechanisation and Production inputs for 7 498 ha: R31,850 mil Purpose: • Broadening Masibuyele Emasimini to support peseant farmer with tractors, seed and fertiliser

EPWP led Land Care 2007/08 • Budget: • Conditional Grant: R4.0 million • Own Funding: R17 million • Measurable Outputs: • Capacity building and awareness & area wide planning R4,205 mil • Community projects (9 mun) R17,000 mil • Purpose: • Rehabilitate degraded lands • Raise awareness on Land Care • To develop area wide LandCare plans
