  5. Users ofPersonal Computer • 10% computer = Toy – mostly Fun to play with (“Techies”) • 90% computer = Tool – mostly used to do a task (the rest of us)

  6. Tablet computer • a Tool, but really fun to play with, so maybe it's a Toy. • a Toy, but really does useful tasks, so maybe it's a Tool.

  7. (SmartPhones) Almost all of comments about Tablet computers apply equally to SmartPhones. The only difference is a smaller display on a SmartPhone.

  8. Why a Tablet? • They're thin & light, portable, easy to take anywhere, fun • Battery lasts all day • WiFi = home, airports, friends, coffee shops, etc. • May be only computer you need!

  9. Use a Tablet Internet Browser, eMail, GPS & Maps, Video Calls, Instant Messaging, Music player, Photo viewer, Video Player, eBook Reader, Voice Dictation, “ToDo” List, Calendar, Calculator, Games, simpleWordprocessing & Spreadsheets, (Photo Camera), (Video Camera)

  13. Apple Enthusiasts Always (or almost always) buys computer, phone, etc. from Apple. Only exception is if Apple doesn't have product (HiFi, TV, . . .)

  14. “Techie's” 10% of our Club? Use multiple OS's (Windows, Android, Apple, …) Buy best product available for what they want to do $$ may not be a concern

  15. Everyone Else 90% of our club? Want a good product to do some specific tasks Don't want to pay more than necessary
