Fulton County TAG Program Overview • Provide an enriching learning experience for the intellectually advanced and the exceptionally creative student. • The TAG curriculum is differentiated to challenge the gifted learner by focusing on interdisciplinary enrichment and extension. • The TAG units are science and social studies based.

  4. TAG Overview • Gifted services are available in all Fulton County schools for students in kindergarten through grade12. • The elementary TAG program is a one day a week, pull out program. • Gifted students create and share new ideas and products with other gifted peers.

  5. TAG Performance Standards • Develop advanced research methods and independent learning • Develop and practice creative thinking and creative problem-solving • Develop higher order and critical thinking skills • Develop advanced communication skills

  6. TAG Units for 2013-2014

  7. STUDENT EVALUATION Rubrics are used throughout the units for evaluation of products and presentations. The TAG Progress Skills Checklist is sent home to the parents at the end of each TAG unit. Students are evaluated on the TAG Performance Standards, Work and Study Habits, and Social Skills

  8. Weekly TAG ScheduleMonday: Testing/CollaborationTuesday: Fifth GradeWednesday: Third GradeThursday: Fourth GradeFriday: First/Second Grade Students will go back to their math classes for math. They will go to Specials with their homeroom class and spend the remainder of the day with their TAG class.

  9. CONFERENCES • A parent-teacher conference is offered each year for grades K-4 in the spring to discuss the student's performance in TAG. • A fifth grade parent group meeting will be held second semester to inform parents of the middle school TAG curriculum.

  10. Middle School TAG Placements • ITBS scores 3rd& 5th grades: Testing is Oct. 21st-25th • Grades • Teacher recommendation

  11. FULTON COUNTY SUPPORTERS OF THE GIFTED • FCSG – Website www.fultongifted.org • The FCSG website has links to other gifted-related organizations and links to sites especially for students. • FCSG is an entirely volunteer venture established to support Fulton County TAG teachers and students.
