  2. TOM MORELLO • Born May 30, 1964 • Born in Harlem, New York, Raised in Libertyville, Illinois • Best known for lead guitar in Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave • Ranked number 26 on the Rolling Stones top 100 guitarist of all time.

GENTLEMAN AND A SCHOLAR • Born May 30, 1964 • Born in Harlem, New York, Raised in Libertyville, Illinois • Became interested in Music and Politics while in High School • He Graduated with high honors from Libertyville High School in 1982 • He attended Harvard University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Studiesin 1986

Top 100 Rolling Stones In the early days of Rage Against the Machine, Morello watched local California metal guitarists play "as fast as YngwieMalmsteen" and realized, "That wasn't a race I wanted to run." So he began to experiment with the toggle switch on his guitar to produce an effect like a DJ scratching a record. The result was true rap metal and a redefinition of the guitar's potential. Morello absorbs hip-hop mixology as a true son of Grandmaster Flash and the Voodoo Child, making his riffs rumble and boom like crosstown turntable traffic.

MUSICAL INFLUENCES • Early influences include: • Kiss, Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath • Joined his first band when he was just 13 a Led Zeppelin cover band. • He has said that he was profoundly influenced by Run-D.M.C. and Jam Master Jay. These influences can be heard in the song Bulls on Parade where his guitar solo sounds like a DJ scratch.

  17. Audioslave In late 2001, RATM drop Zack and pick up Chris Cornell from Soundgarden and from Audioalve. As of 2007 Audioslave disbanded and Soundgarden and RATM are back together.
