  3. What is it? A week-long competition to solve a real business question from the pharmaceutical industry. Requires marketing, scientific, and strategic insight.

  4. Why Participate? • Meet new people & work on interdisciplinary teams • Networking & recruiting opportunities • Presentation, casing, & teamwork experience • Great interview stories • Cash prizes!!!

  5. Team Formation • 2 – 5 individuals per team • At least one SOM student per team, but no more • Team building mixer at GPSCY @ 8pm • Google doc to help find teammates • Sign up individually or as a team

  6. Important Dates • Registration deadline: 11/6 @ 6pm • Teams finalized: 11/9 • Case distributed to teams: 11/ 13 @ 9am • Final slides due: 11/20 @9am • Judging & presentations: 11/20 • Results & networking dinner: 11/20

  7. Judging • PowerPoint presentation of up to 10 slides • Up to 5 appendix slides for questions • At least 2 team members must present • 10 minutes for presentation, followed by up to 10 minutes of Q&A from judges • Judges panel will include scientists, marketers, and consultants • BI will be using the event as a recruiting campaign for its CT R&D unit

  8. Secrets for Success • Start early/budget your time • Leverage everyone’s strengths • Read the case carefully • Recommendations should be both quantitative & qualitative • State (& justify) your assumptions clearly • Content counts, but so does presentation • Be prepared for questions
