  3. Grading Percentages (Honors) • Classwork 13% • Notecards 7% • Participation/Homework 20% • Lab 20% • Exam 30% • Honors Project 10%

  4. Classwork Participation/Homework • Activities completed during class • These activities are collected and graded on a check scale. • Tardiness is deducted from this grade. • Failure to not follow instructions will be deducted from this grade (including sleeping). • Incomplete homework is deducted from this grade. Lab • Activities completed during class that are time consuming • These activities are collected and graded on a 100 point scale.

  5. Notecards • Only can make up the previous week for partial credit. • If your notecard does not site the source, contains 4 sentences, or is not current events in science you will not receive full credit. • Bathroom passes may be turned in for notecards at the end of the quarter. • Should look like this ↓ NAME DATE Summary (min 4 sentences) Source (article name and website)

  6. Make up Work • If you are absent you need to check the daily handout bin for the work you missed at the beginning of class. • Get notes from a classmate. • If you do not understand the assignments or class notes come in early to see me or make arrangements with me at the end of the period. • Partial credit will only be accepted by each deadline given after a progress report. • Hand in late work only when asked at the beginning of the class period. Please write on the assignment if you were absent.

  7. CELL PHONE POLICY • THIS HAS NOT CHANGED! • I do not want to see any cellphone during my class. • Do not have your cell phone out, even if it is turned off! • If I see a cell phone it is mine for the day. • You can pick up your cell phone from me at the end of the school day. • Failure to comply will result in a D1 and/or leaving my class.

  8. Other information… • Pencils should be sharpened at the beginning of class. If your pencil breaks raise your hand and I will assist you. You need to stay in your assigned seat unless instructed otherwise. DO NOT GET UP TO THROW AWAY TRASH, CLEAN YOUR HANDS, OR RECYCLE WITHOUT PERMISSION. • If you need extra help come in early to school. I am here most morning by 8am. Other tutoring times need to be discussed individually. • Right now everyone has a 100% in Biology, let’s start the fourth quarter off with great participation, discipline, and effort!
